US GDP

$22,852,523,018,748

is the sum of GDP (Gross Domestic Poduct) of the United States for 2022.

134.91%

is the ratio of national debt to GDP.

For Russia, at the time of writing, the ratio of national debt to GDP is 38.53%.

What does this mean?

America spends more than it produces, which is constantly forces her to get into more and more debts. This trend has continued since 2013.

US GDP 2020

US Gross Domestic Product fell by 2020 3.5% (20.6 trillion USD), which was the worst figure since World War II. This fact was announced by the US Department of Commerce on January 24, 2021, summing up the results of the past year.

Of course, the fall is due to the coronavirus pandemic that has befallen the whole world. However, even during the Second World War, the US GDP fell by only 2.5%.

But the most interesting thing in all this is different, namely, the structure of the US GDP.

The structure of the US GDP

Quite erroneously, many believe that the US GDP is so large due to the developed production. We hasten to assure you that this is not the case at all. It is in China that the basis of the gross domestic product is the production of goods and their sale for export, while in the USA the structure is approximately as follows:

78% – services,

21% – production itself (industry ),

1% is agriculture.

If we analyze the industries in more detail, the picture becomes even more interesting.

The basis of agricultural production in the United States is the sale of genetically modified soy. In second and third place are sugar beets and wheat. This is followed by sugarcane and rice.

Industrial production is represented by the following sectors (in descending order):

  • hydrocarbons
  • automobiles
  • conveyors
  • machinery and equipment
  • other machinery
  • steel industry

Services (again, descending shares):

  • health and education
  • wholesale and retail
  • public administration
  • real estate
  • financial and insurance activities
  • information services
